You spoke, we listened: what we heard at the Glenthorne National Park Open Days

Were you one of the thousands of people who attended the Glenthorne Open Days in April? Find out what was said and what’s happening next.

More than 3,500 people visited the Glenthorne property for the first time at the Glenthorne Open Days in April. Many visitors took the opportunity to enjoy a ranger-guided walk around the property where they learnt about heritage, revegetation work, Kaurna culture and other parks and areas of land that will form part of the Glenthorne precinct.

A large number of visitors also took the time to provide detailed feedback to help shape the future of Glenthorne. This feedback shows an overall desire for Glenthorne National Park to be a place for park users to connect with nature in an informed, fun, educational, recreational, accessible and peaceful way.

Some of the key themes in the feedback included:

  • Nature Play and Education
  • nature for physical and social health, mental health and wellbeing
  • Kaurna culture
  • native flora and fauna
  • history and heritage.

The feedback collected will now be fed into a master planning process and once draft plans are available, they will be shared with the community for further input.

Keep an eye on future editions of this e‑news for more opportunities to help shape the future of this new national park.
