Almost 30 volunteers gathered at Glenthorne for the first Glenthorne Action Team event, joining the Friends of Glenthorne group for a morning of fun and hard work.

Volunteers rolled up their sleeves and weeded and brush-cutted their way through an area of the property. Planting native species was also on the agenda, as was tree guarding and dock poisoning.

The volunteers also enjoyed a spot of birdwatching near the dam.

Later in the month, a group of dedicated volunteers braved the rain at Marino Conservation Park for a morning of weed control and planting of native species with the Friends of Marino Conservation Park.

GAT events are a great chance to contribute towards the creation of Glenthorne, get to know people in the local community, and build basic bushcare and rehabilitation skills.
