Hap­py Val­ley Reser­voir Reserve is set to become an excit­ing part of the Glen­thorne Nation­al Park-Itya­mai­it­pin­na Yarta Precinct. Find out what’s been hap­pen­ing and what’s com­ing next.


More than 80 peo­ple from the local com­mu­ni­ty recent­ly took the oppor­tu­ni­ty to share their thoughts, ideas and aspi­ra­tions for activ­i­ties they would like to enjoy in Hap­py Val­ley Reser­voir Reserve at a series of online infor­ma­tion sessions.

The par­tic­i­pants showed a desire for on-water access, oppor­tu­ni­ties to add to the nat­ur­al envi­ron­ment with­in the reser­voir reserve, and also shared their ideas on the types of recre­ation­al activ­i­ties they would like to enjoy.

Local res­i­dents and key stake­hold­ers have also been invit­ed to express their inter­est in becom­ing a mem­ber of a com­mu­ni­ty ref­er­ence group to fur­ther guide the way recre­ation­al oppor­tu­ni­ties are planned with­in Hap­py Val­ley Reser­voir Reserve.

The Hap­py Val­ley Reser­voir Reserve Com­mu­ni­ty Ref­er­ence Group will work close­ly with the state gov­ern­ment and land­scape archi­tects to devel­op a draft con­cept plan over the com­ing months.

The group’s role will be to pro­vide diverse com­mu­ni­ty rep­re­sen­ta­tion, advice and input through the plan­ning process and address impor­tant issues raised by the community.
