Across the Precinct: Happy Valley Reservoir Reserve
Happy Valley Reservoir Reserve is set to become an exciting part of the Glenthorne National Park-Ityamaiitpinna Yarta Precinct. Find out what’s been happening and what’s coming next.
More than 80 people from the local community recently took the opportunity to share their thoughts, ideas and aspirations for activities they would like to enjoy in Happy Valley Reservoir Reserve at a series of online information sessions.
The participants showed a desire for on-water access, opportunities to add to the natural environment within the reservoir reserve, and also shared their ideas on the types of recreational activities they would like to enjoy.
Local residents and key stakeholders have also been invited to express their interest in becoming a member of a community reference group to further guide the way recreational opportunities are planned within Happy Valley Reservoir Reserve.
The Happy Valley Reservoir Reserve Community Reference Group will work closely with the state government and landscape architects to develop a draft concept plan over the coming months.
The group’s role will be to provide diverse community representation, advice and input through the planning process and address important issues raised by the community.
